Summer time is a time for getting work done.
We had the wonderful opportunity to host a work group from Ocean City Presby terian Church from OC, NJ. The work they accomplished made tremendous strides on the ABBA house reconstruction.
The team consisted of 22 and participated in construction on three work sites as well as provide VBS for more than 100 children.
Simone and I want to thank the team so much for all the time and talents that you shared with us the 1st week of August. You can see some of the work they accomplished on our website at:

* Pray for Matthew's new opportunity to teach computer classes. This ministry has a local outreach to the disadvantaged families in the area, to bring them to Christ and keep them away from evil influences on the street.
* Pray for the final setup of the computer lab that was scheduled for completion in September so that we can begin to teach classes.
* Pray for a buyer for the house since we plan to leave in 2009.

- Teaching computer to share the Gospel -
As September came so did a teaching opportunity with young people at a local outreach ministry, Pequena Luz {meaning little light}. It is sustained by Compassion International. There are 170 students and 8 teachers. We feel this is a good move since ABBA has shut down their education program. Matthew teaches 3 days a week, computer and English classes with 20 students in the morning and afternoon classes of 15.
He has the 11-15 year olds which he loves. Each day he weaves Bible knowledge into his class. He is the father figure that many of the kids don't have. All children love computers which brings them in off the street and away from other evil influences. Pray that they will continue coming, learning, and turning to the Lord.* Praise for the work team that came from Ocean City and all the work they accomplished.
* Praise for a great semester of homeschooling with Nolan and Ryan (1st and 2nd grade)
* Praise for healing through the sports season when Logan jammed his finger in basketball and both Ian and Evan had hurt feet in soccer.
* Praise for being able to return to the classroom just when the school was without a computer teacher. Lord bless you all!

Computer Crash

It had been years since we had a computer give up the ghost but this year will be marked as the year not one, but TWO computers crashed almost at the same time. We have been able to revive one computer and retrieve a small percent of the data from the hard drive of the other which had been our main computer. Please pray that we will still be given back much of our needed information such as mailing lists and recent photos by the hundreds. And now, put this down and go BACKUP your own computer so that you will not also be crying in the night! Thank you for your patience with the delay in hearing from us.

We have felt the Lord is calling us back to the US and NJ and will be with the mission only until Dec 2009. We hope to count on your support until then. Matthew is currently looking for a position to teach Math and then work with a youth group weekends and summers which is his heart's desire. Simone will continue to home school and keep the home fires burning. We are starting our search in south Jersey the areas around Philadelphia.
Our work in Brazil has been varied. We had 12 years with Pan American Christian Academy teaching computer and discipling kids and then 5 years with ABBA teaching computer and mentoring street kids.
